Happy Fall

Happy Fall, everyone!

I know summer is a beloved season but who could deny that fall is the best of them all? No one. Not one person. We all L O V E fall!

I'm coming to you today with a grateful heart. It has been a great Monday and a great start to the month of October.

My husband and I just recently returned from our belated honeymoon. It was glorious! We spent a few days at Disney World and then hoped on a cruise in Miami which took us down to Key West and then on to Cozumel. It was unequivocally awesome.

It didn't feel like fall at all down south so it feels great to be home and enjoying the cooler weather.

Key West still really needs your prayers. There are still so many things to be done for this beautiful island to be restored. Z and I rented a scooter for our day there and we were therefor able to explore more the island than we would have been able to by foot. As a result, we were also able to see closer into the residential areas of Key West. There are complete neighborhoods gone. There were many shops opening back up (the port reopened just 2 days before our arrival) but still many closed, as owners and employees continued to clean up.

Speaking to several locals, I got the vibe that we were not quite welcome on the island. You see, these workers who were out in their shops by 7 or 8 am wished they were spending their days at home, cleaning and fixing and being with family. But instead, they knew they needed money so they opened their store doors.

This takes a certain kind of hutzpah that I'm not so sure I possess. Do you?

Take a moment to think about how you could help. Is it monetarily? Through prayer?

Don't forget our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico either.

Enjoy this time of year - friends and family begin to get together more often in the fall and winter months than in the summer (despite all those fun pool parties and cookouts). Fall is the time for bonfires and dinner parties.

Hope to see some of you soon!
