book review: LORE by Alexandra Bracken

LORE opened by showing readers gory beginnings of a new Agon, a sanguinary war between gods and mortals which occurs every seven years.

Lore Perseous’s family was gruesomely murdered in a past Agon and she has been successful in avoiding the hunt for many years.

But this year, she enlists Castor, a childhood friend she had believed to be dead for many years, and Athena, one of the last original gods, to fight their mutual enemies.

This book was fantastic! It’s a super immersive read for fans of Greek mythology or The Hunger Games. But beware, if you cringe at the thought of reading gruesome details of life and death you might want to pass on this one.

LORE is available from Disney- Hyperion as of January 5, 2021
