What You Need to Know About Spring Fashion Month

February is in full swing!

It’s safe to say that February is my favorite month of the year. It’s my birthday month, my “dating anniversary” with my husband, and time to start thinking about spring! I’m really in my zone in February, FYI 💕

Even though fashion designers are preparing to show us their Fall 2018 collections, I can’t get the ethereal and magical Spring looks out of my head. Bright colors, bold prints, flowing silhouettes, oh my! For now, I will resign to daydreaming and planning my upcoming Spring wardrobe and sewing/design projects instead of actually donning them just yet.

BECAUSE ... today marks the start of fashion month! I can’t tell you enough how excited I am for new fall fashions to be unveiled.

An Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018 look.

Yes, New York’s men’s fashion week is in full swing!

Here is a beautiful and easy-to-use calendar of the upcoming Fashion Weeks and awards, courtesy of Mood Fabrics.

New York Fashion Week officially starts on February 8th, the same day the Winter Olympics begin in Pyeongchang, but let’s not forget about the menswear.

The official NYFW schedule is available online here.

Tickets are available for purchase to shows that are open to the public on this site, too.

I am most excited for the Alice + Olivia show (February 13th, 11am) and wish I could be there in person. 😌

Dreamy! Can’t wait to see what direction Stacey Bendet is taking Alice + Olivia for fall.

Other facts you should know:

  • Marchesa show has been cancelled (read more)

  • Bottega Veneta show has been moved from Milan to New York

  • Bruno Frisoni is leaving Roger Vivier (last show with the label is during Paris Fashion Week)

(If you’re curious, Molly Hannelly at Mood writes up some bite-sized reviews of the designers whose shows she is most excited for here.)

Tell me, what shows are you most anticipating? Do you prefer fall or spring fashions?
